In this episode we talk Crossfit Lowell, Bodywork and Gina’s teacher, Tom Meyers - Anatomy Trains, Being a female in the Crossfit world, Flow states, Norms in western allopathic medicine and physical therapy (treating the symptom), intuition in healing work, posture and how its affected by things like trauma, Kids, & the process of unlearning how we’ve evolved to move through life, Paleo living, Modern culture’s alienation from death (read Anne Neumann: the good death), the idea that it’s not so much women who are oppressed, but feminine ways, staying sane in the winter and adapting to the seasons, and surrendering to 2018.
Gina Tacconi-Moore wears a lot of great, great hats. I mean, she isn’t literally a hat wearer, but a fully faceted human. Gina is the founder of Crossfit Lowell, holds multiple certifications in manual therapy such as massage and active release technique, as well as several certifications in movement including crossfit level 2, olympic weight lifting and functional movement; has treated athletes for several years at Crossfit regionals, in addition to being a fierce athlete herself (and previous winner of the Lowell Kinetic Sculpture Race!). She also holds a BLA with an English concentration, creates very attractive and creative art, knows how to raise chickens, and is one of the most interesting people to talk to about books, life, death, work, play, sexuality, and existence that I know!
